Beef Rendang is One of the characteristic foods of Minangkabau culture, it is served at ceremonial occasions and to honor guests Rendang is also served among the Malay community in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and among the Bangsamoro peoples of the southern Philippines. Rendang is traditionally prepared by the Minangkabau community during festive occasions such as traditional ceremonies, wedding feasts and Hari Raya

Although culinary experts often describe rendang as a curry, rendang is usually not considered as such in Indonesia since it is richer and contains less liquid than is normal for Indonesian curries. In 2011 an online poll of 35,000 people by CNN International chose rendang as the number one dish of their “World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods (Readers’ Pick)” list.

beef rendang is all about caramelization coconut milk, till dark brown and cooked for at least 3 hours. This is none of those

i am a Minangnese, and i salute you for making the most authentic rendang i ever saw in youtube.

up to blending the ingredients, you did a wonderful job. i have some tips though, of my mom traditional methods. we almost never adds water and veggie oil in the making, we do it only a little bit just in case its too dry.
our steps:
cook the meat until rare, adds the ingredients mix, continue cooking, then let it cool down while absorb the mix. the coconut milk should be cooked at that time, until it almost condensed. finally, mix the meat and ingredients into the milk. last, stir and cook it to the point it get blacked. also, we cooked it with wood charcoal.

the flavor will condense so much and preserves its quality for weeks. i remember i get so bored with it when i was a child because of the preservation quality 😂

WTH this guy is cooking. There is no curry leaves on rendang dish. Only kaffir lime leaves and tumeric leaves. His method is totally wrong.
