Scale them? Or do you just deep fry them, too?

My grandparents wouldn’t eat fish any other way. It was wasteful to fillet fish to them. But, I’ll fillet a bigger fish. Then fry up the backbones as horderves especially like on redfish. Can’t beat bluegill except maybe a speck. Oh! Yes! Those leftover fish will be eaten by lunchtime the next day in my house. Thanks!

Jeff Grier · November 30, 2019 at 2:27 pm

I have never tried eating bluegill that way, but I will now! That sure beats trying to filet them!

MSgt Jim · November 30, 2019 at 2:27 pm

Been a long time since I've been able to catch a bunch of bluegill large enough to eat. Dang, Ricky you made me so hungry for some good brim of any type. Hard to find them where I'm at.

Hensley’s Hobbies · November 30, 2019 at 2:27 pm

That’s the same way my Dad used to eat them too, well not only bluegills but drum, bass, or any kind of fishes like those, now catfish was a little different deal. But yeah, we’d eat them fins too, Dad said they was like a tater chip. lol! They was kinda.. anyway, y’all have a good thanksgiving Sarge!

Looks delicious. I had mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes, turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, a couple of deviled eggs, and pomegranates at my mother's house since today was her day off. I washed the dishes since Mom and my sister-in-law Corie did all the cooking.

Duane T64 · November 30, 2019 at 2:27 pm

Exactly how my grandpaw/dad taught me to eat brim, my grandmaw/mom would not eat the tail and fins……….Thumbs Up brother
