Sweet video of you and your family that I'm sure you'll look back upon with fondness. It's amazing how fast technology has moved since 2009 and your kids are probably directing films by now. BTW, nice looking turkey.

Nice Job! Why did you change your sweatshirt? You need an assistant to hold your beer!

no never brine! with brisket cook at a lower temp (no more than 225) for a longer period of time. if you need to wrap it after several hours so it cooks in its own juices (TX crutch). turkey does not need brine its so good on the pit like that and so is brisket its just really hard to get right. the more you do it the better it will be but brine on a brisket is sacrilege lol.

haha good to hear turkey on the pit is always awesome! did you brine it or do it the real mans way? lol .

My 10 yr old daughter was the camera person, she had just received the camera for Christmas one hr before she took this. I think she did a great job!

Stu Nahan · October 27, 2019 at 2:33 pm

Mesquite wood chips? Mesquite is used for red meats. Just thought I would mention so others don't use them.

Thank you for the great video. I have a Big Steel Keg grill, which is similar to the BGE. I hope that mine turns out as good as yours.

J Defeo · October 27, 2019 at 2:33 pm

our turkey was 18 pounds but you can fit about a 20 pound turkey on the original big green egg

Jackson Gates · October 27, 2019 at 2:33 pm

Nice work. 3hrs seems quick. How big was your turkey?

Nick Klee · October 27, 2019 at 2:33 pm

Hey, you forgot to mention the secret ingredient. About 2 mins into the video you dig for some ear wax…you usually smell it, but I think you added it to the basting.
