The best & easiest way to cook a duck…

After cooking over 75+ ducks the past 6 months I’ve perfected the easiest way to cook a duck, you can use any spice you would normally use for chicken, beef, or pork that is up to you, but the process is so simple.

Roasting a duck the secret is cooking it at 325°F and don’t over cook it, a 5.4lb duck takes 3 hours, a 4lb duck takes 2 hours 10 minutes.

When roasting the duck you need to make sure the duck is sitting at least 2 inches from the bottom of the pan to make sure it gets lots of air moment around the duck and that it isn’t sitting in its rendered fat.

The last hour to 40 minutes of the cooking time flip the duck over so the breast is sitting facing up to get the skin crispy.

It is best to thaw the duck completely overnight so when you apply your spice to it in the morning it sticks to the skin, I put my duck in the oven between 6 am to 10 am in the morning set the timer on the oven so it’s done just in time for supper at the end of the day.

This is the easiest and tastiest meal I have in my house and still after 75+ ducks the past 6 months I look forward to supper and don’t like to share it.

Muskovie ground duck tastes like lean beef. Love it. It's so filling you have to watch how much you eat or you'll wattle like duck afterwards.

Slavik · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

By far the best recipy. I cooked it at 340 for 2 hrs and 50 min thought

Mario Jones · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Dude need ur teeth pulled out

Umeki Earl-Nelson · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Cooked my thanksgiving turkey beautifully this year. It was very convenient to use>>>ur2.pl/1203 and I was happy to not take up half my oven cooking the turkey. It cut down on my total cooking time for thanksgiving. The turkey came out moist and tender. Easy to clean after use.

Charity Bocanegra · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Never made duck before but tried it just like he said only i used a Thai curry spice. Truly Amazing!!!! Only problem is i Wish I had made 2 of them…Hubby and kids were licking their fingers and asking for more 😁

jstevens · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

I've never cooked a duck before, used your 325 for 3 hours. It turned out awsome! One of my picky kids even loved it, thanks for sharing! I will definitely make this again.

Lary observer · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Will try this, may put a whole onion inside the cavity to see if that will add a little extra flavor. Good video and instructions.

MOOSEDOWNUNDER · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Butterfly the duck so you don't have to flip it.

325 degrees for 3 hours, like he said, and THAT'S IT!! PERFECT EVERY TIME!!

lemoncrinckles · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

I wanted to see the roasted duck at the end!!

HI 50 Ducks in A Hot Tub.

I am interested in talking to you about raising ducks and was hoping you'd be so kind to let me pick your brain a little bit. Perhaps we could do it through an email or two. Thank you! Well done on your video btw!

JB Judd · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

I found this to be super easy and every time I've cooked a duck this way it has been perfect. I tend to use light seasonings. I love taking the drippings afterwards and making fries. Thanks Matt, simple, easy, and the way I've taken since I saw your video over a year ago.

Chris Lopez · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

I think i might cook duck this weekend

Shelley Knowles · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Great !

noturbone · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

dude u gotta show the finished product WTF

markpitea1 · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

I just bought a roasting pan with a lid so i can contain all the mess – i hate a dirty oven. Will cooking with the lid on affect the outcome/taste of the duck? And would you change the temperature and cooking duration if cooking with a lid on?

Damian Guillemi · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

I used the instructions and it is so simple! duck= big chicken ☺. my 4th duck of the season is now in the oven thanks for the video!

jacwood22 · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

I'm trying my first one tonight, although it's a frozen one. It's thawed and ready to go. Gonna try it your way. Thanks for the tips!!

TBCDG · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Cameron LaRue · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am

Followed your directions and my duck came out fabulous! This was my first time not only cooking duck but also eating duck. Thank you!

Chris Foster · March 22, 2019 at 6:05 am
