A eight pack of corn is not going to cool the water fast enough. Try a BoilBoss cooling ring. It works great. You would not have over cooked the bugs.

This was a really helpful and informative video. Not sure where you're originally from – the accent, I'm guessing Maryland or Delaware 😉 but take it from someone from south Louisiana, you did a good job! BTW, if the tail is straight after cooked, that means the crawfish was dead going in, so don't eat those 🙂

You could put salt before you fry them so they spit up all the dirt they have beta way to get all the dirty out of them

Crawfish boil and not a single beer in sight. You also mentioned "purging". Most people think pouring salt on them does that. Its a myth. Texas A&M did a study on it. Conclusion was it does nothing but kill them. Just wash them with a hose like you did. Also good to see you did not add sausage. I love sausage, but it makes the crawfish really greasy. Not a good mix in my opinion. Leave the sausage for the smoker.
